About Birds Eye Chilly : In India, it is commonly seen in Meghalaya, Assam and Kerala (mostly in western ghats belt). It is a slow growing perennial shrub. Its production is very low, and one among the ten hottest chili peppers in the world. Birds eye are consumed in small quantities, considered as a spice for seasoning. Its also known as ‘Kanthaari Mulaku‘ and are used in traditional Kerala dishes. Reduces unused fats stored in various parts of the body. The chemical compound Capsaicin is present in this chilly. They come in different colours-Green, red, white and Black. Each of them has a different Capsaicin content.
